Save A tangy, creamy dip featuring sweet and sour pickle relish, perfect for chips, sandwiches, or as a burger topping.
I first made this dip for a family gathering where everyone wanted tangy flavors but something creamy to pair with chips. It quickly became a favorite for topping burgers and adding a zesty boost to veggies.
Ingredients
- Sour cream: 1 cup (240 g)
- Cream cheese: 1/2 cup (120 g), softened
- Sweet and sour pickle relish: 1/2 cup (120 g)
- Red onion: 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Fresh dill: 2 tablespoons, finely chopped (optional)
- Apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon
- Dijon mustard: 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Mix Dairy Base:
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and cream cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add Relish and Veggies:
- Fold in the sweet and sour pickle relish, red onion, and fresh dill.
- Add Seasonings:
- Add the apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Adjust and Chill:
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve:
- Serve chilled with chips, crackers, or as a sandwich or burger spread.
Save My kids especially love this dip for picnic sandwiches and as a side with their grilled burgers during summer cookouts.
