Red, white, and blue layered gelatin shots with a creamy condensed milk middle, alcohol-free and kid-friendly.

# What You Need:

→ Red layer

01 - 1 (3 oz) box strawberry or cherry flavored gelatin
02 - 1 cup boiling water
03 - 1/2 cup cold water

→ White layer

04 - 1 (3 oz) box unflavored gelatin
05 - 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
06 - 1 cup boiling water

→ Blue layer

07 - 1 (3 oz) box blue raspberry flavored gelatin
08 - 1 cup boiling water
09 - 1/2 cup cold water

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Whipped cream
11 - Red, white, and blue sprinkles

# Steps:

01 - In a heatproof bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the strawberry or cherry gelatin and whisk until fully dissolved; stir in 1/2 cup cold water to temper.
02 - Use a 1 tablespoon measure to distribute the red mixture into twenty 2 fl oz shot cups; transfer to the refrigerator and chill until firm, about 60 minutes.
03 - In a separate bowl, dissolve the unflavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until clear; whisk in the sweetened condensed milk until smooth and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before using.
04 - Gently pour approximately 1 tablespoon of the cooled white mixture over each set red layer, taking care not to disturb the red base; return the cups to the refrigerator and chill until the white layer is firm, about 60 minutes.
05 - In a clean bowl, dissolve the blue raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved, then mix in 1/2 cup cold water.
06 - Pour about 1 tablespoon of the blue mixture over each set white layer, level any spills, and refrigerate until fully set, at least 60 minutes.
07 - Just before serving, finish each shot with a small dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of red, white, and blue sprinkles if desired.

  • If you rush pouring new layers before the last one sets, the colors bleed together in a less-than-pretty swirl.
  • Letting the sweetened condensed milk come to room temperature avoids unmixed clumps and gives a lusciously smooth center stripe.
03 -
  • Don’t skip scraping off any bubbles before chilling—this keeps your layers glassy smooth.
  • Tilting cups slightly in the fridge while layering can add a dazzling diagonal stripe effect.
